How does a conference call with the work of 20 people?

I'm about to get a conference call with 20 people, and I'm really scared because I do not know any of them. What should I do when I call, say hello and make conversation? How can a person take control of this call as a whole?

Each will have a phone number to call a designated access code #. There will be a "leader" to appear and explain what the call concerned. The head may or may not tell people to go ahead. This may take a few minutes with 20 people, who can not.
